Ultimate Group Handgun Shooting Experience

Gather your partner, family, or friends for a private, beginner-friendly handgun experience at an outdoor range in Bowie.

The Ultimate Group Try Before You Buy Handgun Experience gives groups of two to six participants the opportunity to shoot and compare five different handguns with personalized instruction from an experienced firearms instructor. Instead of choosing a firearm based solely on appearance, internet reviews, or how it feels at the gun counter, you’ll experience how different handguns actually perform in your hands.

During this private two-hour session, your instructor will guide the group through essential firearm safety and shooting fundamentals, including proper grip, stance, sight alignment, aiming, trigger control, and recoil management. Participants will receive hands-on assistance throughout the experience and have opportunities to ask questions about firearm size, controls, comfort, and overall shootability.

This experience is designed for beginners, future gun owners, couples, families, and groups who want professional guidance in a relaxed and supportive environment. No previous shooting experience is required.

Group Pricing

Two Participants — $300

Includes 100 total rounds of ammunition shared between the two participants.

Three Participants — $375

Includes 125 total rounds of ammunition shared among the three participants.

Four Participants — $450

Includes 150 total rounds of ammunition shared among the four participants.

Five Participants — $525

Includes 175 total rounds of ammunition shared among the five participants.

Six Participants — $600

Includes 200 total rounds of ammunition shared among the six participants.

The instructor will help manage the ammunition so every participant has an opportunity to shoot and compare the five featured handguns. Ammunition may not be divided equally if a participant decides not to shoot a particular firearm or requires additional time becoming comfortable.

Add an Additional Hour

Groups may add one additional hour to the experience for $125.

The additional-hour fee covers the instructor’s time and continued access to the scheduled experience. Additional ammunition is not included with the extra hour.

Additional time should be reserved in advance and is subject to instructor availability, range availability, and seasonal daylight hours.

Location

Group sessions are conducted at a Bowie outdoor range. Address given in confirmation email.

Groups of two may request a session at Maryland Small Arms Center for an additional $50, bringing the total price to $350. The indoor option is not available for groups of three or more.

Scheduling

Sessions are available:

Bowie- Tuesday-Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until dusk.

Upper Marlboro- Mondays 12p-7p, Fridays 10a-7p

Other appointment times available by request. Appointment times change throughout the year because the Bowie range operates according to available daylight. Later appointments may be available during the summer, while earlier final appointment times will apply during fall and winter.

Because this is a two-hour experience, the available start time must allow the group to complete the session before the range closes.

Important Information

This session is an educational handgun-comparison and shooting experience. It is not an HQL class, concealed-carry course, live-fire qualification, or substitute for continued firearms training.

Participants must follow all instructor directions and range safety rules. Anyone who behaves unsafely or fails to follow instructions may be removed from the firing line without a refund.

Outdoor sessions are subject to weather and range conditions. If unsafe weather prevents the session from taking place, the group will be contacted regarding rescheduling.
