What types of training do you offer?

We offer One-on-One Training, Group Training, CCW Permit Classes, and a host of other classes tailored to your needs and skill level. Be sure to check out our upcoming events and classes.

What class should I take?

HQL: Take this class if you need the license required to purchase a firearm in Maryland.
MD Wear and Carry (CCW): This class is for you if you need a permit to carry a firearm. Bonus—it also includes the HQL.
Beginners Handgun: Perfect for those new to firearms or looking for a solid foundation, whether you’ve fired a gun before or not.
Beyond the Permit: If you already have a CCW permit but want to build more confidence in carrying and handling your firearm, this is the class for you.
One on One training: Get a training experience tailored specifically to your skill level, goals, and learning pace.

Do I need prior experience to join the classes?

No, our programs are designed for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced learners.

What is the CCW Permit Class?

The MD CCW Permit Class provides the training and certification required to apply for a concealed carry permit, covering firearm safety, handling, and legal responsibilities.

Which state's concealed carry permits can I obtain through Tribe Defense Academy, and in which states are they recognized?

In addition to your MD Wear and Carry Permit (CCW) we offer the following states as add ons: AZ, FL, UT, VA, PA

Your MD CCW Wear and Carry permit allows you to carry in 26 states in the US including these states that have reciprocity: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan (resident permit only), Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin. (plus other permitless carry states)

The popular combination of MD, UT, and FL allows a MD resident to carry in 36 states.

Excellent instructor. I'm a senior citizen that walk with a cane, Mr. Tony was able to instruct me on how to stand and hold my weapon without me feeling shakie. He also boost my confidence which allows me to be able to handle my weapon, if ever needed.Thank you Mr. Tony, of Tribe Defense Academy. By the way I will be returning for refresher training from time to time.

Have you ever heard people brag about going to the range and it being a “great” experience? Well, I’ve gone before and great is not quite how I would describe it. No amount of classroom training could have prepared me for that type of environment. That’s until I went to Tribe Defense Academy’s grand opening and got one-on-one instruction using laser and a simulator in a safe and controlled environment. Tony, my instructor, was very knowledgeable about his craft. He was patient with me because my anxiety was on 10. He told me exactly what I needed to do to correct my aim. In less than 10 minutes of practicing on the screen, I ended my session with ZERO misses. If you’re anything like me and need to practice without feeling rushed to go to the range, Tribe Defense Academy is definitely for you.

My sister and I attended the grand opening/open house of Tribe Defense Academy, located in Suitland, Maryland. During what was supposed to be a 5-minute presentation, Tony Hart, the instructor, gave us an over 30-minute presentation, showing us how to properly hold a gun, and proper shooting stance and allowed us to test out many of the gun range simulator programs and also answered any questions we had at the end. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about not only providing the necessary information regarding gun safety, protection, and laws but also making sure you understand and are comfortable with the information he is providing. Tribe Defense Academy is your go-to for all of your firearms training needs. We have signed up for our first classes and encourage others to do the same.

Definitely a great course from start to beginning. Tony was very informative and I feel like I’ll be equipped to do what’s needed for my permit now. The space is really nice and clean. This was a Great experience learning the proper way in shooting a fire arm. The instructor (Tony M.Hart) does an excellent job teaching. The computer simulator is Awesome!!
