Tribe Defense Academy is a proud Black-owned, husband-and-wife business. Tony Mike Hart, a lifelong gun enthusiast and competition shooter, turned his passion into a profession after years of encouragement from others who admired his natural teaching abilities. Following the closure of their retail business, Hart’s Desires, Tony saw the perfect opportunity to pursue his calling. Now an NRA and USCCA-certified instructor, Tony combines his technical expertise with patient and thorough teaching methods to ensure every student gains the knowledge and confidence they need.

While Shani Hart isn’t an instructor, she is the backbone of the business, working diligently behind the scenes to handle scheduling, logistics, event coordination, and everything in between. Her efforts ensure that Tribe Defense Academy runs smoothly and that Tony can focus on what he does best—training and certifying others.
