Confident Carry II: Live-Fire Holster Training

Event Date:

September 20, 2026

Event Time:

10:00 am

Event Description

Owning a firearm and earning your concealed carry permit are only the beginning. Confident Carry II helps you take the skills learned in Confident Carry I to the range for supervised, live-fire practice.

This outdoor class focuses on safely and confidently drawing from an on-body holster, getting accurate shots on target, and building the practical skills needed to carry a firearm responsibly.

Prerequisite

You must complete Confident Carry I before attending Confident Carry II. No exceptions.
Click HERE (insert event link from site)  for that class registration.

Confident Carry I establishes the safe draw process and dry-fire fundamentals you will need before drawing a loaded firearm on the range.

What You’ll Practice

  • Safely drawing and presenting your firearm from the holster
  • Establishing a consistent grip
  • Clearing your cover garment
  • Keeping your trigger finger properly indexed
  • Firing accurate shots from the draw
  • Safely returning the firearm to the holster
  • Building confidence through supervised live-fire drills

Drills may also include steel targets, barricades, multiple-target engagement, and other defensive shooting exercises depending on the class location and range setup.

Required Equipment

Each student must bring:

  • A reliable firearm in safe working condition
  • At least two magazines
  • At least 50 rounds of ammunition; 100 rounds preferred
  • Eye and ear protection
  • An on-body holster worn on a belt at the waist
  • A sturdy belt that securely supports the firearm and holster
  • Clothing suitable for drawing safely from the holster

Holster Requirements

Your holster must:

  • Be worn on a belt at your waist
  • Be designed specifically for your firearm
  • Securely retain the firearm
  • Completely cover the trigger guard
  • Remain open when the firearm is removed

Belly bands, thigh holsters, bra holsters, shoulder holsters, purses, bags, off-body holsters, and similar carry methods are not permitted in this class.

If you are unsure whether your firearm or holster is appropriate, call or text us at 301-410-9220 before class.

Range Dress Code

Because this is an outdoor live-fire class, students must wear:

  • A crew-neck or other high-neck shirt
  • Long pants with belt loops
  • A sturdy belt
  • Closed-toe shoes

For safety, no V-neck, low-cut, halter, off-the-shoulder, or loose-fitting tops are permitted. No sandals, Crocs, or open-toe shoes. Dress appropriately for the outdoor weather.

Important Information

This is an intermediate live-fire class and is not designed for first-time shooters. Students must already be able to safely operate, load, unload, and fire their firearm.
